About our company

S.A.K. Quality Small Engine Service is a family owned and operated business. It was first started out of Warn's (Scott's brother) garage in January 2001 while Scott was working a full time job as a mechanic for Black Millwork. Scott and Warn would work during the day at Black Millwork and in the evenings and weekends would pick up, repair and deliver machines for their customers while Sammi would return phone calls in the evenings after her full time job. Briggs and Stratton and MTD were the main engines and machines that were worked on at that time.

The business grew due to their loyal customers forcing Scott to look for another location. This led to a garage in Vernon that was soon out grown. In August 2004, Scott left his full time mechanics job to pursue making the business his full time occupation. This led to a move to the lower portion of 11 Wallkill Avenue in Hamburg, where they took on Toro and Echo as their flagship lines of equipment. They chose Toro and Echo for their quality and reputation.

Scott and Sammi then needed to add an employee to assist with the growing business and workload. They hired Bob Pluymers who formerly worked at Barney's in Franklin. Also at that time, Barney Glow, former owner of Barney's, recommended that Scott and Sammi take over his customers and would refer people to S.A.K. Quality Small Engine Service.

As the business continued to grow, the upstairs facility became available and the space was needed for a showroom for their growing equipment sales.

As the years have passed, S.A.K. Quality Small Engine Service has grown to be a successful business that Scott and Sammi could not have done without the help from their family and friends and of course their dedicated customers. A special thanks to Warn for all his help and support, to Barney for all his referrals and to Bob, who has been a huge asset to this business with his knowledge and background. And thanks to Whitey and Jimmy for being our friends.

S.A.K. Quality Small Engine Service now works on a full line of engines and popular brands of equipment.
